Michaelmas Week

The younger children hear stories about how brave St Michael tamed the dragon and they play courage games in the playground.  The older children venture into the forest to play Dragon Games and search for the maiden.  Good deeds are encouraged around the school.

The image of St Michael and the dragon used at Michaelmas is to encourage brave deeds, new initiatives and fresh beginnings.   This will be a busy week for the school and the children are preparing songs and plays for the Michaelmas Festival on Friday at  9am. All parents and friends are warmly welcome to  join the school in this celebration. Class 3 will be  performing their play ‘St George and the Dragon’ and  each class will be presenting gifts of songs, poems and recitations. Most of the classes will be bringing  gifts of harvest food and flowers. Please check with  your teachers what you are requested to bring.  Finally, all children will need to wear festival  dress – white tops.  Please join us.

Warm wishes, Liz
