The RWS Diploma

Ringwood Waldorf School will award a Diploma to mark graduation from the four-year course that is a complete Upper School education from Class 9 to 12, and a Certificate of Accomplishment to those who successfully complete Classes 9 and 10.

To graduate at RWUS, pupils must successfully complete at least 80 credits. Those credits are earned throughout classes 9 to 12. There are around 90 credits available in total over the course of the four years of study in the Upper School.

GCSE

Ringwood Waldorf School offers students a GCSE in Maths and an IGCSE in English Language, which promotes our pupils’ progression to further or higher education and training, alongside the Ringwood Waldorf Diploma.

Pupils receive timetabled I/GCSE Maths and English lessons each week and are offered revision sessions during the school holidays.

Thursday 16th May 9.00 am - 10.30am GCSE Maths Paper 1, Non calculator (Pearson 1MA1 1F / 1H) and Functional Skills Level 2 Maths
Thursday 23rd May 9.00 am - 12.00 pm IGCSE English Language B (Pearson 4EB1 01)
Monday 3rd June 9.00 am - 10.30 am GCSE Maths Paper 2, Calculator (Pearson 1MA1 2F / 2H)
Monday 10th June 9.00 am - 10.30 am GCSE Maths Paper 3, Calculator (Pearson 1MA1 3F / 3H)

Morning exams begin promptly at 9am. You must ensure you arrive by 8.25am and register as usual before.

All exams will take place in the Eurythmy Room at school. Seating plans will be displayed on the notice board outside the room each morning.

Please line up outside the Eurythmy room with your transparent water bottles (labels removed), clear snack bags (no colour blocks or print whatsoever), clear pencil cases and calculators ready for invigilator checks, ready to go into the Eurythmy lobby. Once invited to enter to the Eurythmy lobby you are under exam conditions (talking or communicating with other pupils not permitted) for final invigilator instructions, before entering the exam room.

Stress During Exam Season

Exam Results Day 2023-24

Wednesday 21st August 2024

The Exam Officer, subject teachers and other key members of staff will be on site when you come to collect your exam results. Results not collected in person shall be posted to your home address 24-48 hours later. Please note this is a printed results slip and not your final certificate, which is issued in October. If someone else is going to pick up your exam results, you must complete an Authorisation Form. Please contact the Exam Officer for a copy.

Exam Certificates

GCSE Exam Certificates are issued in the October following the exams, after the deadline for any appeals has passed. These must be collected in person from the school office. If someone else is going to pick up your certificates, you must complete an Authorisation Form. Please contact the Exam Officer for a copy. Please note that we are not obliged to keep hold of exam certificates, so it is important to arrange collection in a timely manner.

Post Results Appeals Process

As stated, the Exam Officer, subject teachers and other key members of staff will be on site when you come to collect your exam results. Should you receive an unexpected result, we are on hand to advise you with options of what to do next.

All candidates may request a copy of their marked exams paper via the Exam Officer. There is no charge for this. If, on obtaining your marked script, you would like to request a re-mark of your paper, please speak to the Exam Officer and your subject teacher. There is a charge for script re-marks.

Exam Contingency Arrangements

Locally - In the unlikely event that the school site is deemed unfit for an exam to be safely conducted, plans are in place to relocate to the Sheiling Ringwood. Further information would be made available in good time, should this situation ever arise.

Nationally - Should there be disruption to exams on a national level, as a last resort the exams will be rescheduled. Therefore national contingency dates are planned including 6th, 13th and 26th June 2024.

Please bear in mind that pupils sitting exams must remain available until Wednesday 26th June 2024, should an awarding board need to invoke this contingency plan.
