May Festival Sunshine
Maypole Dancing
At this year’s May Festival, the rainbow-coloured ribbons around the maypole showed up beautifully in the glorious sunshine. What a treat for everyone – a real celebration to mark the change of season! Musicians from throughout the school accompanied each class with traditional songs to dance to while weaving the ribbons around the maypole.
Rhthym of the Year
As with all Steiner Waldorf schools, the Mayday Festival and maypole dancing is an integral part of the rhythm of the school year. It marks the start of Spring, with all colour and hope that brings – a reflection and connection with the natural world all around us, bursting into life and new growth after winter.
This event is open to all, sharing our Mayday celebrations with visitors to the school, parents, grandparents and the local community – come along and join us next year!
