Fundraising Update June 2012
This had been another exciting year for fundraising, and we’re writing to thank our parents and friends for the time, enthusiasm and energy you have all so freely and generously given this year.
Our regular annual events – bazaars, shows, fairs and balls – were very successful as both fundraising and social events, and with the addition of many exciting new events such as:
- the Charity Clothes Swap
- Well Being Day
- Holistic Baby and Toddler Fair
- International Summer Language School
and more, has seen us raise £40,000 during this school year 2011-2012. Over the last 5 years our ability to claim Gift Aid has boosted our coffers by a further £4,000. Well done everyone!
This large sum has enabled us to:
- meet the Consultancy and Planning costs forour proposed Upper School accommodation
- buy a 16-seater minibus
- upgrade our much used fundraising equipment, including the purchase of a very attractive Moroccan tent.
This grand sum will also enable us to plan important improvements and upgrades to the fabric of the school as a whole over the coming months.
Our school was built in phases, allowing for intensive fundraising between each phase, so that the enthusiastic efforts of parents many years ago have given us the buildings we now enjoy. It’s up to us, the present generation of parents, to see that the next building phase comes to fruition – accommodation for our Upper School.
Let’s look forward to another fruitful year of active fundraising to enable us to improve and extend our school.
With warm wishes,
