Ahoy! Concert in Gloucester Cathedral
Ahoy! Concert
Last Friday many pupils from Classes 4 & 5 travelled to Gloucester Cathedral to take part in a multi-Steiner School concert, Ahoy!
The sun was shining, the children were in great form and the afternoon rehearsals, which were interspersed with picnics in the beautiful grounds of the cathedral and making new friends from other schools, went well.
That evening we gathered in festival dress and watched as the cathedral filled up. There was a beautiful atmosphere.
The Tale of the Mary Rose
What followed was a wonderful concert, including the tale of the Mary Rose with song, dance and speech, accompanied by some first class musicians. We also joined in with the rousing Halleujah Chorus from Handel’s Messiah and many other songs.
Smiles, laughter and music filled the day from the moment we stepped on board the coach – there was some good onboard entertainment from parent Paul Iggulden which we all enjoyed too!
Many thanks to all who took part, including the Steiner Academy Frome, Freie Waldorfschule Dachsberg, The Steiner Academy Hereford and to Wynstones School for organising the day.
The sun certainly shone, and so did all the children!
