Seahorses – Art with tranquility by the sea

Seahorses is a wonderful guest house with an art and craft studio in Freshwater on the Isle of Wight

Our family group was aged between 12 and 80 years and we all loved our week’s stay at Seahorses on the Isle of Wight. We stayed in Studio Cottage, a newly converted self-catering stable block complete with a private garden. Seahorses is in Freshwater, ten minutes’ drive from Yarmouth which is a short ferry ride from Lymington in the New Forest

Freshwater is a lovely part of the island, very unspoilt with cliff walks and the bay close by. What we loved best is the Art Studio which is four steps away from the Cottage, (making it easy to pop back for a cup of tea after a morning’s work).

We were all able to try our hand at whatever craft we fancied: mosaic, silk painting, clay, stained glass, fused glass (jewelry making), driftwood models and T-shirt stenciling. Boris Moscoff is on hand to help with advice and plenty of patience to show you what to do if needed.

We can recommend a stay in either the B&B or cottage as a restful break suitable for families. Great fun was had by all and we came home with our new treasures and happy memories.

James Innes pictured here with Boris Moscoff outside the art studio at Seahorses with some of the creations he made during his stay on the Isle of Wight.

One project he wanted to make was a stained glass picture of a geometric shape that he had drawn in Class 5. With Boris’s guidance, James achieved his wish and was very proud of the outcome.
