Old Scholars News – The Wilmar Family
Old Scholars – The Wilmar Family
In 2010, the Capital Fundraising Group invited the popular naturalist and television presenter
Chris Packham to give a fundraising talk at our school. He was Godfather to one of our
children, so it wasn’t as hard as you might think to book him. It was a sell-out, of course,
and after his marvellous talk, he spent time with the children, exciting a mixture of revulsion
and wonder by handling a snake – before posing for a photograph. Among the keen amateur
naturalists were the four lively Wilmar children. What are they doing now?
Lars Wilmar completed a Bachelor’s in PPE at York and achieved his Masters in Economics.
He has worked for Infinergy (renewable energy) for six months and is applying for graduate
schemes in London. Lars lives in London with some of his old Steiner school classmates. He
enjoys weightlifting, Ju Jitsu and travelling.
Jarne Wilmar studied for a Bachelor’s in Business Management at Plymouth. He worked at
the sales and marketing department of Trent’s car business in Poole and is now an account
manager at Manutan (office and warehouse equipment) in Verwood. With his girlfriend,
they have just bought their first house in Bournemouth, which will need a good amount of
renovations! As a hobby, he loves tinkering with cars.
Imke Wilmar is working on a Master’s in Biology in Utrecht, Netherlands. She has joined two
societies: cooking and event organising. She works part-time as a Barista and enjoys Yoga as a
hobby.
Kjalt Wilmar finished a BTEC in Art & Design. Kjalt has been doing different jobs and is now
working full-time in a warehouse in Verwood. He is saving up to travel to and work in Australia
in early summer. In his free time, he goes to the gym to work out; he loves music, writes and
makes songs, and still pursues his art by painting, sewing and creating.
