Media Education: A Waldorf Perspective
Join us for an illustrated talk for parents and teachers of children aged 0 to 18 on a ‘Media Education: A Waldorf Perspective’ from 4-5.30pm on Saturday the 9th of November at Ringwood Waldorf School.
The session will be run by Sven Saar, the co-founder of The Modern Teacher: Education as Art, a part time course for emerging Waldorf teachers that runs at Ringwood Waldorf School on a monthly basis. Sven was a Waldorf teacher for over 30 years and is active in Teacher Education in many countries.
In this session, we will be exploring how we can allow and encourage young people to develop healthy relationships to the real as well as the virtual worlds?
This illustrated and interactive workshop will address the importance of having real physical and social experiences for young children, and it will offer advice on how to guide older children responsibly towards agency and safety in the digital realm. Attendees on the course will receive practical suggestions and helpful pointers in an area where many parents and guardians feel out of our depth, but where our children need us to take sensible, non-dogmatic leadership.
The session is free to attend and will be held in the Eurythmy room at Ringwood Waldorf School.
