I go with my little lantern…

The children in the lower school and kindergarten celebrated Martinmas with their traditional Lantern walk. Each class made paper lanterns of their own design, then set out on their walk singing lantern songs.

Class 3 Blackboard by Class Teacher Pankaj

I go with my little lantern,

My lantern is going with me.

In heaven the stars are shining,

on Earth shines my lantern for me.

My light shines bright

Dark is the night

La bimba la bamba la bim.

My light shines bright

Dark is the night

La bimba la bamba la bim.

Lantern Walk song

They returned after their magical walk to a welcome hot chocolate and home-baked biscuits from the children in the older classes… It’s a beautiful way of lighting the darkness as winter arrives.

Blackboard by Octavia Spinney, Class 11 student

Le chal jiwan ki jyoti

Jiwan ki

Jyoti le chal

Akash mein chumke taare

Dharti pe chumke hum

Prakash jahan chalo wahan

Prakash jahan chalo wahan

Laxmi and Sita and Ram.

Hindi version of the Lantern Walk song – from Pankaj, Class 3 Teacher
