Festival: Celebrating Midsummer St Johns 2018
St John’s Festival 2018
Last Friday we celebrated Midsummer at school with St John’s Festival. As is traditional, the fire was lit by students from Class 10 for the whole community to gather round. Then there was a short assembly in Keir Hall and music from the Mother Ukers and their ukeleles.
Gathering around the now-smouldering embers of the fire, one by one each teacher and their class made the jump, celebrating summer together. Afterwards, families stayed to picnic together – a welcome pause before all the activities gathering pace towards the end of term and another school year.
