I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in June 2024 from the École Supérieure des Arts du Cirque in Brussels. I’ve lived here for three years now and plan to stay, as I’m starting my own circus company, No Bra No Problem.
Looking back, it’s hard to pinpoint exactly how my education at Ringwood Waldorf School prepared me for this journey, but I know it had a profound influence. Growing up at Ringwood Waldorf School, I wasn’t pressured by my education, which allowed me to develop my own motivation. This freedom helped me later when I chose to pursue circus and performing arts—it felt like a natural path. Once I decided on it, I pursued it wholeheartedly.
The values instilled at Ringwood Waldorf School still guide me today. As I navigate the world, I question it constantly. That habit of asking ‘why’—fostered throughout my childhood—is crucial, especially in today’s environment. I’m incredibly grateful for my class teacher. She believed in me and taught me to respect myself, respect others, and be kind to the world while always questioning it. She was like another parent—just one I could leave at school!
I have a childhood full of memories from Ringwood Waldorf School, but a standout is our Class 7 trip. We spent a week canoeing down the River Wye, camping on the shore, roasting marshmallows, and—of course—capsizing each other! It’s those moments of fun and connection that have stayed with me.
I feel so fortunate to have had an education that supported me as a whole person. It’s a gift I carry with me as I start this exciting new chapter.
