As we are now entering the final year of our Erasmus project, I wanted to update you all on our plans for the upcoming year. In the next couple of weeks, at the beginning of October, a group of 8 pupils will be travelling to Germany with 2 teachers and a parent-helper to take part in a Maths and Science workshop. Pupils will meet up again with other children from the French, German, Hungarian and Turkish schools and enjoy a variety of activities.
In January next year we will be welcoming pupils to our own school for a ‘World of Work’ workshop. We hope to involve as many people as possible, so we will be notifying you of events planned and probably asking for help!
Between January and March next year we will also be running an exchange programme, where pupils from France, Germany and Hungary are offered the opportunity to spend either 3 or 6 weeks at our school. They stay with host families, so of you are interested in offering a ‘home from home’ for a period of time to a foreign student, please get in touch and speak to Liz in the school office.
Our pupils (class 8 upwards) are also given the opportunity to spend time in France or Germany, where they will go to school and live in a family environment, so perhaps now is the time to discuss with your child whether this is an experience they would like to have.
In April 2017 there will be a joint celebration of achievement in Hungary and it is envisaged that a number of pupils will travel to this event too.
A part of the project is also staff training and two events are planned for next year, in Germany and Hungary, where teachers will be chosen to take part in discussions and share expertise and experiences in all subjects.
Please do not hesitate to get in touch with me if you would like any more information. ELISABETH
