About this event:
Summer Holiday Club
6th-17th August 2018
A crafts and adventure summer holiday club for 6 to 12-year-olds from 6th to 17th August. Open to all.
Our aim is to provide a healthy, entertaining holiday club with lots to do for everyone. Instead of screen time, electronic games or music there will be creativity, outdoors fun and engaging with new friends. We want our participants to have a good time, learn something new and build confidence in their skills. All our programmes are non-competitive and children are encouraged to work and play together in all activities.
To ensure that all children receive the care and attention they deserve, we limit numbers to a maximum of 25 per session. Early booking is therefore advised.
Programme and Timings
Running from Monday to Friday, the themed core programme starts at 10 am and finishes at 4.00 pm each day. We also provide early bird and late leaver sessions to accommodate your child care needs, from 8.15 to 5.45.
The core programme begins at 10 am each day and ends at 3.45 pm, so children are ready for pick up at 4. Before and after that time, activities on offer are games, crafts, story times and free play. If you need further information about any activities, please get in touch with the school office. Please note that outdoor activities will mostly take place regardless of the weather, and indoor alternatives are planned in case this is not possible.

Our club leaders
To ensure that activities are of a high standard within a nurturing environment and reflect our school ethos, the club is run by Waldorf teachers and other approved experts. We have teamed up with Jambalaya Juggling to provide professional quality circus skills workshops, and with the Fresh Air Club for bushcraft workshops, whilst our own staff are running theatre, craft, games and other outdoor sessions. We are committed to safeguarding children, have a qualified first aider at hand at all times and follow best practice staff recruiting procedures.
Location & Facilities
We are located at Ringwood Waldorf School, and have our base in a classroom and the adjoining school garden. This makes us flexible to provide lots of fun activities either indoors or outdoors according to the weather.
Equipment and materials
We work with natural materials for our arts and crafts wherever possible, and all equipment provided for circus workshops are of a professional standard for safety and providing the best experience. All materials are included in the workshop price.
